Community Heights Housing Resource & Residence Center

The Challenge

In Dalton, Georgia, dozens of families with children are living in unsafe motels because there is no emergency shelter for families. The Dalton-Whitfield Community Development Corporation, a longtime leader in local housing stability, set out to change that through Community Heights, a first-of-its-kind transitional housing and housing resource center.

DWCDC came to us with a clear vision and strong financial model, but needed a unified donor-ready story, modern web experience, and communication strategy to engage major donors, partners, and community stakeholders.

Translate a deeply complex, urgent housing challenge into clear, compassionate storytelling that inspires investment and long-term partnership.

Our Primary goal

Our Approach

We built a donor-focused engagement toolkit and digital foundation designed to help DWCDC move quickly and confidently as they launched the public phase of the Community Heights campaign, shaping a strong, accessible narrative that:

  • Clearly defines the urgent housing gap facing families in Dalton

  • Explains the Community Heights model in plain language

  • Centers safety, dignity, and stability for children and families

  • Answers common donor and community questions up-front

  • Reinforces DWCDC’s credibility and long-term commitment

Community Heights Campaign Landing Page UX & Copywriting

"We are excited to launch this initiative to solve a problem that has been talked about in the community for years. Community Heights will fill a gap in housing services in Dalton, and we can't thank our supporters enough for bringing it to fruition through their donations."

-Reed Fincher, Executive Director, DWCDC

Donor & Partnership Collateral

We created a polished, reusable toolkit that included:

  • Partnership & Major Donor Pitch Deck
A 10–15 slide presentation for one-on-one donor conversations, customizable for different giving levels and audiences.

  • Case-for-Support & Issue One-Pager
Clear, visual summaries of the project need, financial model, and community impact, designed for email, meetings, and board briefings.

  • Campaign Landing Page
A bespoke, Community Heights campaign landing page to drive education around homelessness in Dalton, GA, the solution that this first-of-it’s-kind housing and resource center presents for residents, and how the local community can get engaged to support the DWCDC’s vision.

Each piece was written intentionally to move conversations beyond education and into meaningful partnership.

Website Redesign & Campaign Landing Page

DWCDC’s original website structure made it difficult for visitors, especially donors or families seeking support, to understand services and impact.

We redesigned the site with a modern, accessible, pillar-based structure, highlighting their main focus areas of Permanent Housing, Transitional Housing (including Community Heights), and Housing Counseling.

We also improved navigation, page structure, accessibility, branding cohesion, and future-ready analytics and fundraising integrations.

The Impact

Now, the DWCDC has a donor-ready digital presence and campaign system that builds donor confidence, supports major-gift conversations, humanizes the local housing crisis and reduces friction for partners & volunteers to establish a strong foundation for long-term fundraising.

Most importantly, it enables their team to focus on the work that matters most: creating safe, stable housing pathways for families with children.
